This question aims to provide an estimate of the extent of birth registration in your country. Respondents must be assured that the information about individual families will never be given to authorities, and that they cannot be identified in any way. Ask to see the birth certificate. Circle the appropriate corresponding code, noting whether or not the certificate was seen. If the child has a birth certificate and it was seen, circle '1' and skip to BR5.
