Description

Definition
Type of occupancy is classified according to the use of residential or non-residential structure for construction.

Residential is a building in which major parts or more than half of its gross floor area is built for dwelling purposes. Examples of this type are single house, duplex or quadruplex, rowhouse, townhouse, apartment, residential condominium, housing units for school staff, maids or drivers quarters.

Non-residential structures include commercial, industrial, agricultural and institutional buildings, and other non-building structures.
